Janamaithri Suraksha Project – the Community Policing Scheme of Kerala aims at partnering with the local community in the shared responsibility of ensuring people’s safety. Kerala Police believes that it is important to regularly deliberate on issues surrounding community involvement in policing so that the project can be further strengthened and emerging challenges addressed. In line with this objective, we are organising a Global Conclave on Community Policing – PePPS -2018 on 25th and 26th October, 2018 at Hotel Samudra - Premium Beach Resort, Kovalam, Thiruvananthapuram. The conference is typically a confluence of practitioners, academicians, policy makers, civil society and other experts on the topic from across the globe. The theme of this year’s conclave will be “Community Policing as Core Criminal Justice Strategy”.
As part of theme, the conference will also deliberate on the importance of the entire spectrum of community interventions for effective criminal justice delivery. The significance of policing as an instrument of social capital will also find place in the conference. If you are a practitioner, academic, expert, policy maker, civil society activist or student working in this field, we eagerly solicit and look forward to your participation in the event.
